Katsy Pline's sophomore record “No Peace in the Valley” provides a heartworn score for an era of total ecological destruction and riotous uprisings. The record is a somber manifesto, an index of how much has been lost, and a tender celebration of the closeness and power of queer intimacies. A melange of countrypolitan love songs and American Primitive fingerstyle interludes is cut throughout with the cosmic shimmering of layered synthesizers. 'No Peace' takes a long view of this civilization’s sweeping depredations and offers respite in the deep time of rivers, forests, and love’s burning crystal fire.
